I’m a consultant, adviser and author of The Briefing Note blog.
I provide strategic advice on the subject areas of corporate responsibility, stakeholder engagement and corporate affairs. Which is another way of saying that I help organisations manage their reputation and invest in the stakeholder relationships that matter most to their business and its success.
The points-of-view expressed on this blog are based on 20 years worth of experience working in corporations and professional service firms and advising their leaders on communication and engagement strategy. They’re also drawn from my career start as a newspaper journalist and media adviser in state politics. Pet topics that pepper my posts include the media sector and the disruptive impact of digital technology, social media, diversity, flexibility in the workplace and the mash-up of observations that comes from being a keen observer of business and popular culture.
I have a Master of Arts in International Communication (Macquarie University, Sydney) and a Bachelor of Arts in Communication (Journalism) from Charles Sturt University, Bathurst. I’m a graduate of the Company Directors Course at the Australian Institute of Company Directors and the Global Reporting Initiative’s certified training program.
Sydney, Australia is where I call home.
